Disable authentication 802.1x for wired connections (Linux)

If you are using the old MiNET authentication method (802.1x), the wired connection will not work. You will therefore need to disable it.

Interface

• Open a terminal and type the following command to open the interface for managing connection profiles:

nm-connection-editor

• Look for the Ethernet connection profile that corresponds to the one you use for MiNET (often “MiNET AutoFil”).
• Click on the gear icon next to the name; a window will open displaying all the information for that profile.
• Go to the tab labeled Security
• In the top-left corner, uncheck the box labeled 802.1X Security or Use 802.1X for this connection.
• Save.
